Padua High School Tennis Championships
The Shaw Park Tennis Centre is excited to announce the date for the Padua Tennis Championships. Sunday the 4th of May at the Shaw Park Tennis Centre in Wooloowin. The tennis centre has 10 great quality tennis courts and is found only a few kilometers from the Padua School campus.
All students are invited to take part and give tennis a go. Singles and doubles options are available. The Padua Tennis Coaches and staff are excited to see the Padua College students compete in their Annual Tennis Championships. Each year the students play off in a bid to see who can be the school champ in their respective categories.
Padua College AIC Head Tennis Coach Jon Tredgigo will be the Tournament Supervisor and Referee. When asked about the event, Jon says “This will be the third time that I have organized the event and it’s always a great day here at Shaw Park. There is a fantastic family atmosphere and the boys end up playing lots of good tennis”. Jon adds “It really is an ideal way to start the season, plenty of practice matches for the players that have been off trying other sports”.
Padua College Tennis Team members are encouraged to take part and gain valuable tennis experience and internal competition. If you have never played a tournament before, this tournament is a great way to gain extra time on court and learn the game. Our coaches will be assisting with the supervision of this event. Entry is only $5.00 per event.
Categories are
• Year 10, 11 and 12 – Singles and Doubles
• Year 7, 8 and 9 – Singles and Doubles
• Year 5 and 6 – Singles and Doubles

The Padua College Tennis Teams are coached by the Shaw Park Tennis Centre Coaching Team. Jon Tredgigo, Jenny Metzlar, Gavin Norris, Cam Cole and Taylor Madgwick. The teams will begin their training in Term 2 of each year and compete during term 3 and some of term 4.
