Shaw Park Tennis Supporter’s Tour
Australia’s Fed Cup semi-final against Germany will be held at Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane this month, Tennis Australia was pleased to announce.
The tie will be staged over the Easter weekend of April 19-20 after Australia defeated Russia in Hobart last month to reach their first semi in the team competition since 1993. Tennis in Brisbane will explode with this high level Womens Professional event to be hosted here.
Germany could field two top-20 players. Angelique Kerber (ranked 6th) and Wimbledon runner-up Sabine Liscki (ranked 16th). Andrea Petkovic (ranked 37th) is another singles option should either player be reluctant to play in the tie.
Sam Stosur (ranked 17th) and Casey Dellaqua (ranked 78th) are the highest ranked Australians, with Dellacqua and Ash Barty one of the world’s most accomplished womens doubles teams.
The Shaw Park Tennis Centre is getting a number of their junior tennis players together to go and support the Australian Women’s Fed Cup Team. All players of our tennis coaching and fixtures teams are invited to attend.
The idea behind the tour is to have our players attend the matches under coach supervision in a fun social environment. All of the junior players will do a training session at the Tennyson courts from 9am-10.30am before getting ready to see some of the pro tennis inside the Pat Rafter Arena.
Tennis training at Tennyson and two day pass
- Tennis training is from 9am -10.30am both days
- Fed Cup matches expected to start at 11am
- Travel will be via train accompanied by a coach
- Tennis Training + Supervision + 2 day Pass will be $99
