We are well into Term 3 already.  I wanted to remind you of a few things coming up this term and also update you with some Performance Squad news.
Squad Optimised

1. PERFORMANCE SQUAD SUNDAY SESSION

Our second Sunday session will take place at Shaw Park on Sunday 11th September from 9-11am. Please call Shaw Park on 32661660 to book in for this.

I will send a reminder email out on the Monday the week before for everyone to confirm their attendance.

2. SUPER 10’S TOURNAMENT

The Super 10’s competition is a teams based competition featuring the top 16 boys and girls aged 10 and under across Queensland. Players have to trial to gain selection into one of four teams. These teams then play off against each other over three consecutive weekends.

Players are also competing for selection into a Queensland team who then participate in a National competition in Melbourne which takes place during the Australian Open.

Tennis Gear would like to congratulate Sarah Birchall, Madison Waugh, Kiera Mulgrew, Sebastian Iselin- Shea and Paddy Townsend who have all gained selection into a team for the current Super 10’s competition.

For further information on Super 10’s please visit http://www.tennis.com.au/leagues/super-10s

Well done guys and good luck to all of you!

3. SQUAD SESSION PLANS

I have attached a copy of the session plans the coaches will be doing during the squads for the second half of this term. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to speak to me or one of the coaches.

While some drills will differ depending on the age and level of your child, I am a big believer in creating consistency throughout our coaching program at all centres and working on similar themes and drills will help us produce better tennis players.

4. 2016 TENNISGEAR  CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS

Congratulations and thank you to all that took part in this year’s TennisGear Championships. We saw an action packed Sunday with some superstar tennis on display.

Morningside Tennis Centre hosted a great day of tennis and it  was great to see so many juniors enjoying their tennis and showing great sportsmanship. Well done to all of our Hot Shots winners as well as Staffani Madjer who won the Yellow Ball title and Shaw Park’s Lazar Lujic for taking out the Open Junior singles title.
